As we are coming to the shortest “day” of the year I find it hard not to just sit back and take it all in.
We have been having a pretty nice amount of rain these past couple days, and quite frankly there is nothing I love more than to hear the sound of rain.
Coupled with the short hours of sunlight and deep clouds it feels as if Mother Nature is just winding down pulling up her blanket….before she starts to slow awakening to Spring.
After nearly 40 years of the same weather day in & day out (ok to be fair So Cal wasn’t always hot year round) it is so refreshing to live cyclically.
Am I looking forward to longer hours of daylight…sure, however I fully enjoy the short as well.
It is a time to wind down and recharge from what is always a fun but busy time of spring and summer.
After all longer days means doing more, longer adventures, etc. So it only makes sense that we need time to regroup and recharge.
Sadly most people find this time of the year to be packed with activities and obligations and not recharging.
I guess what my point was is just enjoy the season, enjoy the silence that comes with…because before you know it sunlight will be lasting well to 10pm.
